2. Data We Collect

Contact form data

When you submit our contact form, we collect your name, company, email address, phone number (optional), and the content of your message. This data is used exclusively to respond to your enquiry.

Server log files

When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files. This includes browser type, operating system, referrer URL, IP address, and date/time of access. This data cannot be attributed to specific individuals and is used solely for technical operation and security purposes.

Cookies

This website uses only technically necessary cookies required for basic functionality. We do not use any cookies for advertising, marketing, or analytics tracking purposes.

Website Analytics

We use Matomo, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to understand how visitors use this website. Matomo runs entirely on our own server — no data is shared with Google, Meta, or any other third party. Matomo does not use cookies, and visitor IP addresses are anonymised before being stored (the last two segments of the IP address are removed). We collect only aggregated, anonymised information such as which pages were visited, the general geographic origin of visitors (country/region level), and which website or search engine referred the visitor to our site. This data cannot be used to identify individual visitors. Raw analytics data is automatically deleted after 6 months; aggregated statistical reports may be retained longer. This processing is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding and improving our website.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data on the following legal bases under the GDPR:

Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — processing necessary to fulfil a (pre-)contractual relationship, e.g. when you request information or an offer.

Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — your consent, where explicitly given (e.g. privacy checkbox on the contact form).

Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functional website.

4. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law. Contact form data is deleted once the enquiry has been fully processed and no legal retention obligations apply.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We may share data with trusted service providers (e.g. web hosting, email delivery) who process data on our behalf under data processing agreements. Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the EU/EEA where adequate protection is ensured.

If you are located in mainland China and contact us (e.g. via our contact form), please note that the personal data you provide will be transferred to and processed on servers located in Germany. By submitting the form, you consent to this cross-border transfer of your data for the purpose of responding to your enquiry.

6. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right of access — to obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR).

Right to rectification — to have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR).

Right to erasure — to request deletion of your data where no longer necessary (Art. 17 GDPR).

Right to restriction — to restrict processing in certain circumstances (Art. 18 GDPR).

Right to data portability — to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format (Art. 20 GDPR).

Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR).

Right to withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@maci-tec.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority — for MaciTec, this is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht – BayLDA), Ansbach, Germany.

7. Hosting

This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. A data processing agreement (DPA) is in place with the hosting provider in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.
